Great Lakes Distillery is based (just like Amy) in the beautiful state of Wisconsin. The company is located in Milwaukee, the largest city in “America’s Dairyland,” as Wisconsin is also known. It was the first distillery in the state since Prohibition and was founded in 2004 by Guy Rehorst.
His company produces the spirits entirely in-house according to the “grain-to-glass” philosophy, using locally grown grains and other regional ingredients. The distillery combines traditional production methods with an innovative approach, resulting in distinctive small-batch releases and limited-edition expressions that boast incredible flavor and fascinating stories.
A wonderful example of this are definitely the Dirty Helen bourbon and rye, named after the legendary Helen Cromwell. We’d love to tell you the story while you enjoy one of Great Lakes Distillery’s spirits. And if you’d like to try something completely different, even more adventurous, then go for the Smoked Malt (made from 100% malted barley), the Amburana-finished rye, or the Brightonwoods Apple Brandy.
We are especially proud to add Great Lakes Distillery to the Spirits4all portfolio, as we are the first importer. In fact, the brand has never before been officially available outside the country. Available from the end of September 2026!
