Cedar Ridge Distillery is located in Swisher, Iowa, also known as “the Tall Corn State of the U.S.” Founded by Jeff and Laurie Quint in 2005, it was the first legal distillery there since Prohibition. We’d had our eye on them for a while, and after visiting the distillery, we knew for sure: Cedar Ridge is an absolutely top-tier brand that we want to add to our portfolio.
In its home state of Iowa, Cedar Ridge Straight Bourbon has been the best-selling bourbon for six years in a row, which is a unique achievement: it was the first and only craft distillery in the U.S. to sell more bourbon in its home state than any of the major Kentucky brands. This is not only due to the pride of the state’s residents; it is primarily due to the exceptional quality of this whiskey (and all their other spirits).
As a family-owned business with deep roots in agriculture, Cedar Ridge works primarily with locally grown grains. The distillery follows the traditional “grain-to-glass” philosophy and manages the entire production process, from raw materials to bottling. Its lineup includes bourbon, rye, and (a truly fantastic) American single malt.
Since the company also produces wines, it has a wide selection of barrels for innovative aging of limited-edition releases. As a result, Cedar Ridge has become one of the most respected craft distilleries in the U.S. What an honor it is to be able to bring these products to Europe.
