Cedar Ridge Distillery is located in Swisher, Iowa, also known as “the Tall Corn State of the U.S.” Founded by Jeff and Laurie Quint in 2005, it was the first legal distillery there since Prohibition. We’d had our eye on them for a while, and after visiting the distillery, we knew for sure: Cedar Ridge is an absolutely top-tier brand that we want to add to our portfolio.
In its home state of Iowa, Cedar Ridge Straight Bourbon is the best-selling bourbon, which is a unique achievement: it is the first and only craft distillery in the U.S. to have succeeded in selling more bourbon in its home state than any of the major Kentucky brands. This is not only due to the pride of the state’s residents, above all it’s because of the exceptional quality of this whiskey (and all their other products).
As a family-owned business with deep roots in agriculture, Cedar Ridge works primarily with locally grown grains. The distillery follows the traditional “grain-to-glass” philosophy and manages the entire production process, from raw materials to bottling. Its lineup includes bourbon, rye, and (a truly fantastic) American single malt.
Since the company also produces wines, it has a wide selection of barrels for innovative aging of limited-edition releases.
